The Black Keys, Fun. and Mumford And Sons have all been confirmed to perform at the 55th annual Grammy Awards, which will take place on Sunday, February 10th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The three acts -- all multiple Grammy nominees and all competing for Album of the Year, among others -- join Rihanna and Taylor Swift as part of the first wave of performers scheduled to appear at the gala music awards show, which will air live on CBS-TV beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Fun. band member Andrew Dost told us how the band felt when they heard about their nominations: "Oh, we were losing our minds. That was just an indescribable feeling. That's one of the things you don't even really dare to dream about. I think when you're younger, you think those things just happen if you're in a band, and then once you hit 24, 25, you realize that they don't happen to anybody. So, you know, approaching 30, it's a nice -- it was a dream come true. There's really no other way to describe it."
Fun. and Mumford And Sons are nominated for six Grammys apiece, tying them with Jay-Z, Frank Ocean and Kanye West for the most nods.
The Black Keys are up for a total of five prizes, while frontman Dan Auerbach is nominated separately for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical.
Fun. and the Black Keys are also up against each other in the Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories, while the Keys and Mumford And Sons will go head to head for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance.
