Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor has confirmed through his Twitter page that House Of Gold And Bones Part 2, the second part of the band's double-record concept album, will be issued in April. Although an exact release date has still not been confirmed, the disc will now arrive that month along with the first of a four-issue comic book series based on the album's storyline.
House Of Gold And Bones Part 1 ended in a cliffhanger with the story's main character, called the Human, in the clutches of the villains. Taylor told us that Part 2 picks up right where the story left off: "Part 2 opens up in a very dark spot with a song called 'Red City,' which is fantastic. It's probably one of my favorite songs we've ever written. And it basically reveals that the Human is still kind of being held. It's escape or die, basically, at that point. So yeah, there's gonna be a lot of payoff on Part 2, let's put it that way."
The first single from Gold And Bones 2, called "Do Me A Favor," is expected to arrive this month.
Taylor told Billboard.com recently that the group is planning a world tour in 2014 during which they will spend two nights in each city and perform both halves of its House Of Gold And Bones double album in their entirety.
House Of Gold And Bones, Part 1 was released this past fall. The first single from Part 1, "Absolute Zero," recently topped the Active Rock radio chart.
Stone Sour and Papa Roach will team up for a co-headlining U.S. tour that will kick off on January 20th in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Taylor also tweeted that his second book, a follow-up to his 2011 memoir Seven Deadly Sins, will be published this coming summer. The tentative title is A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven.
