Volbeat has announced a spring 2013 tour of North America that will begin on March 6th in Dallas, with dates confirmed through mid-April. The news comes just a day after the group revealed that it will debut new material on a five-show swing through its home country, Denmark, in February. It is likely that fans on this side of the Atlantic will get to hear a few new songs as well. Support will come from Danko Jones.
The band has been recording the follow-up to 2010's breakthrough album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven during the past few months, with the set expected to arrive sometime in early 2013.
Beyond Hell/Above Heaven was Volbeat's fourth album, but first major American success. It featured the two Number One rock radio hits, "A Warrior's Call" and "Still Counting."
Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen told us a while back that it's been very rare for a band from Denmark to make it in the States: "It seems like we're one of the few or maybe one of the only Danish rock bands who have been able to have a decent tour in America, and that's something that we're, you know, really proud of. And our listeners in Denmark are very proud of it."
