Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor will make a special appearance at this year's New York Comic-Con, according to Blabbermouth. He will be at the Dark Horse Comics booth on Saturday, October 13th at 3:00 p.m. to announce a brand new project. Taylor is expected to reveal that Stone Sour is teaming up with Dark Horse for a comic book series that will be issued in conjunction with the release of House Of Gold And Bones, the band's upcoming double concept album. The first disc comes out October 23rd, with the second due to arrive sometime next year.
Taylor recently gave us a description of the album's storyline: "It's basically a morality play. It's basically the story of someone kind of standing at the crossroads of his life, going, 'Hmm, do I continue down the road as the person that I was, or do I continue down the road and try to figure out who I am now, at this point in my life?' That's the choice that we all kind of have to face."
The singer told Rolling Stone that the comic book series will likely total four issues, saying, "It's basically a visual representation of the short story that I wrote . . . there'll be a lot of content that's not in the album artistically that'll be on the web site. So everything will really kind of tie together and make it a really cool experience for the listener."
New York Comic Con takes place from October 11th through the 14th at New York City's Javits Center.
House Of Gold And Bones follows up Stone Sour's 2010 album, Audio Secrecy. The first single, "Absolute Zero," is Number Seven on the rock chart.
