The Killers have posted a seven-minute mini-documentary about the band online that coincided with Tuesday's (September 18th) release of their new album, Battle Born, as well as a YouTube webcast that night of their concert at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, New York City. Both the documentary and the webcast were directed by famed German filmmaker Werner Herzog, the experimental director best known for award-winning documentaries like Grizzly Man and Cave Of Forgotten Dreams.

According to Rolling Stone, the documentary follows Herzog as he visits the Killers at home in Las Vegas -- although guitarist Dave Keuning is "not to be found" during the film. Herzog cruises the Vegas Strip and heads out into the desert with the band, and at one point says that they were raised in a "fake" city.

Frontman Brandon Flowers told us a while back that he wouldn't rule out getting more involved with movies in the future: "Maybe when I'm older it would be fun to be in front of the camera, but for now we're just, we're so busy and I think we talk about doing movie scores and things like that. That would be a lot of fun, I think."

Tuesday night's webcast was part of the American Express "Unstaged" series, which has paired musicians like Jack White with filmmakers like actor/director Gary Oldman.

Battle Born is the Killers' fourth album and follows up 2008's Day & Age.

The Killers play in Toronto this Saturday (September 22nd) before heading off to Europe. They'll be back home for a monthlong tour beginning on November 29th in Broomfield, Colorado and ending on December 29th in Las Vegas.
