Green Day singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong was released from a hospital in Bologna, Italy and allowed to fly home on Tuesday (September 4th) after being admitted to the medical center for an undisclosed ailment on Sunday (September 2nd). Armstrong's illness forced the trio to cancel its Sunday night gig in Bologna, which was the last date on a short European run. Although unconfirmed reports suggested that Armstrong was suffering from gastric issues, he mouthed "my voice is gone" to waiting reporters when he landed at the airport in Los Angeles.
Italian publication La Voce also reported problems were caused by fans trying to visit Armstrong at the hospital.
Green Day's next show is the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 21st, with Armstrong expected to fully recover by then.
In other news, the band has released the official music video for "Kill The DJ," the second single from the group's upcoming album Uno!
Uno!, the first of three linked records, is due out on September 25th, while companion CDs Dos! and Tre! will arrive in November and January.
