Deftones have announced that their seventh studio album will be titled Koi No Yokan and will arrive on November 13th. The new disc follows up 2010's Diamond Eyes, the California group's most successful and acclaimed outing since White Pony was released a decade earlier. We asked frontman Chino Moreno to describe the sound of the new record: "It's a tough question to answer, you know, really, how it sounds or comparatively, you know, what kind of record it's gonna be. I can't really say it's a completely heavy record because it's not, it's not a midtempo record, it's not a superfast or slow record, it's very dynamic. If you ask me, it's the epitome of what Deftones do great and I think that's utilizing those dynamics on a recording."
Like Diamond Eyes, Koi No Yokan was recorded with bassist Sergio Vega filling in for Chi Cheng, who remains in a semi-comatose state as a result of a November 2008 car accident.
Deftones will support the new CD with a nationwide headlining tour which kicks off on October 9th in Ventura, California. Scars On Broadway will be the opening act. Tickets go on sale next Friday (September 7th).
