A third commercial for Amdro Ant Block directed by Rob Zombie has surfaced online, according to Blabbermouth. In this one, a woman is driven crazy by the presence of ants in her home, all with a sly reference to the classic kids' song, "The Ants Go Marching." Luckily for her, Amdro is available to solve the problem and ease her back to sanity. The Amdro spots have been Zombie's second foray into the world of advertising, following a commercial for Woolite that he shot in early 2011.
Zombie told us why he actually enjoys shooting TV commercials: "For one thing, they're quick. They don't involve a lot of your time. And it's such a good way to keep up sort of your directing chops in a way, because, you know, a lot of times with movies, you make a movie and then years might go by before you get back behind the camera to make the next movie, and that's always been kind of jarring to me. So it's nice if, you know, every couple of months or something, you can shoot a TV commercial just to sort of stay in the groove."
Zombie has also directed an episode of CSI: Miami and a Comedy Central special starring comedian Tom Papa in addition to his five previous feature films.
Out now from Zombie is Mondo Sex Head, a collection of remixes of various Zombie tracks by artists like Korn's Jonathan Davis, Chino Moreno of
Zombie has also been working on his first new album since 2010's Hellbilly Deluxe 2. The new, yet-to-be-titled CD is set for a late 2012 release.
His Twins Of Evil co-headlining tour with Marilyn Manson begins on October 1st in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Zombie's sixth film as a writer and director, The Lords Of Salem, will premiere this September at the Toronto International Film Festival before opening in theatres later in the year.
