Kings Of Leon will make their first concert appearance in New York since late 2010 when the band headlines one night of the three-day Governor's Ball, set for June 7th, 8th and 9th on Randall's Island off Manhattan. According to Billboard, the three-year-old event is expanding to three days for the first time and will feature sets from the Lumineers, Of Monsters And Men, Young The Giant, The XX, Grizzly Bear, Bloc Party, Feist and many other alternative and indie acts, as well as rappers like Kanye West, Nas and Kendrick Lamar.

Lumineers frontman Wesley Schultz said recently that many fans of music these days don't seem to just like one particular style of music: "Well, I think that people listen to a lot of different types of music. There's just such a diverse taste in people that they can listen to one artist religiously and listen to another artist that you would never expect them to. So people just have a range of tastes that it's kind of hard to pin it all down into 'I'm just an Americana listener, I'm just an R&B listener, I'm just this or that.' It's pretty varied, I think."

In addition to Kings Of Leon and West, who is also headlining, the event will feature a third "surprise" headliner yet to be revealed.

A limited quantity of discounted early bird tickets, covering all three days, go on sale Friday (January 25th). Tickets can be purchased at the festival's official website.

In addition to music, the festival will feature activities like life-sized Connect 4, ping-pong, and other games. Guests braving the June heat will have access to eight free water refill stations as well.
