Stone Sour and Slipknot singer Corey Taylor says he'd like to record a dance album someday. Speaking with Revolver magazine, Taylor revealed that he'd like it to be "funny and sarcastic," explaining, "I'm not talking '70s dance and not that tired f***ing dubstep bulls***. I want to make it something that's got that old school feel to it, but with a modern twinge. Just get ridiculous with it. I've already got a name for myself -- the Boogie Knight, and I want to call the first album The Boogie Knight Rises."
Taylor recently said that he would like to record a collaboration with Justin Bieber. Taylor came up with the idea after seeing a fan mash-up of Slipknot's "Psychosocial" and Bieber's "Baby" that's racked up 12 million views on YouTube. Taylor said, "Everybody thought I'd be pissed about it, but I was blown away . . . I give him respect."
After fan backlash over the comments, Taylor walked them back on Facebook, writing, "It's entertaining reading the comments about me and the Biebs. I think everyone needs to calm down -- it'll never happen. Haha."
Meanwhile, Stone Sour's "Absolute Zero," the current single from the band's new album House Of Gold And Bones, Part 1, has hit Number One on the Active Rock radio chart.
House Of Gold And Bones is a two-record concept album based on a short story written by Taylor. The second disc will arrive in the spring of 2013, along with a four-issue comic book based on the storyline.
