A Perfect Circle has announced that it will perform a single show in what's left of 2012, on December 29th at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Tickets for the show go on sale this Saturday (September 15th) at 10:00 a.m. PT, with VIP tickets only available via a special link. Although this is the only currently announced North American appearance for the group, it will be part of the annual traveling Soundwave Festival in Australia next February and March.
The band, which features Tool singer Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Billy Howerdel, Weezer drummer Josh Freese and others, came out of hibernation in spring 2011 for a five-week tour, its first in six years.
As for whether the band will ever record a new album, Howerdel told us not long ago that he doesn't see a full-length record happening: "I like records. I still like records. I have great memories of having anticipation of hearing a whole album and ingesting it slowly and drinking it all in. To me, I have desires of making a record, but it just doesn't seem like people are interested. It just seems that everyone likes to digest things much quicker and have less patience."
A Perfect Circle's last album was eMOTIVe, a collection of political cover songs released around the time of the 2004 presidential election.
