My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way appeared on Monday (August 13th) on Spoilers, an online series produced by Hulu and hosted by filmmaker Kevin Smith, where he spoke about the band's upcoming fifth album. According to Alternative Press, Way said that the recording process for the disc was "going rather quickly" and described the set as "very dark so far." Way also hinted that the band will be wearing costumes when it comes time to promote the record on the road.

Way also played "Small Petunia Of The Galaxy," a song he wrote for his daughter, from his iPhone during the interview.

My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero hinted earlier this year that the band intends to make its next album a concept record just like its last two.

Iero said that the follow-up to 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys "can't just be a collection of songs," adding, "It's never going to be 'Oh, we had these 12 songs so record it real quick and we'll put them out!'"
