10 Years has premiered the music video for "Backlash," the first single from the band's upcoming album Minus The Machine. The track has been climbing up the Active Rock chart and is currently breaking into the Top 30. The song has a different feel for 10 Years and bassist Lewis Cosby told us how it came about: "It was a really simple riff, and Brian (Vodinh, drums) had put some programming behind it and it was like really remnants of like old Nine Inch Nails. And at first we were like, 'Oh God, programming drums, I don't know how we feel about this.' But the more I listened to it, the more we all kind of were like, 'Man, I don't know, I mean, we've never done this before but I dig it.' It was one of those songs that like didn't grab me at first, and then after a while I just really started to love that direction."
Minus The Machine is 10 Years' sixth studio album and arrives in stores on August 7th.
The new disc will follow up 2010's Feeding The Wolves, which featured the hit singles "Shoot It Out" and "Fix Me."
Minus The Machine is 10 Years' first release through its own label, Palehorse Records, after a long stretch with Universal.
10 Years will next perform on August 4th at the Summer Jam Music Festival in Centreville, Virginia.
