Muse has released an official video for "Survival," the trio's new song that has been chosen as the official theme of the 2012 Olympic Games. The band themselves don't appear in the clip at all, which is instead a montage of past triumphs and failures from previous Olympic competitions. The four-minute clip touches on all the Olympic sports, from big-ticket games like gymnastics, swimming, soccer and basketball to smaller fare such as table tennis, kayaking, badminton, wrestling, beach volleyball and fencing.
The video starts with a countdown back from 2012 to 1896, the first year that the modern games took place.
"Survival" will be played throughout the Games at all venues where events are being held, including the closing medal ceremonies.
Muse is gearing up for the September release of its sixth studio album, The 2nd Law. A single called "Unsustainable" is set to arrive at radio stations in August.
