Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan releases his first book of photography, titled Apocalyptic Nightmare Journey, on Tuesday (June 19th) through MTV Books. Before hitting the road with Slipknot this summer, Clown is heading out on a small book signing tour that begins on Tuesday in Chicago and ends eight stops later in Ridgewood, New Jersey. The book consists of Polaroid pictures that Crahan has taken all throughout his career and compiled over the past 11 years. He told us that the book is a real achievement for him: "I'm so proud of it. It's so beautiful to me, it hurts me to look at. It's my life from the beginning and it means so much to me, and it's an art book. So it's not a paperback, you know, it's not a story. It's something that you might thumb through, but then come back to it and go, 'I never saw that.' And I'm very proud of it." Crahan got Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich to write the foreword, in which Ulrich stated that the book was "unique, spellbinding, and potentially life-altering" and "everything that art should be." Slipknot will headline the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Tour this summer in the U.S., beginning on June 30th in Devore, California. After that the band will stage the first-ever Knotfest on August 17th and 18th.Confirmed Clown book signings (subject to change):
