Papa Roach announced on Thursday (June 14th) that its seventh full-length studio album will arrive on October 2nd. A title, first single and track listing have yet to be confirmed. Frontman Jacoby Shaddix, however, made it very clear to us what inspired the songs this time around: "Halfway through the album, me and my wife of like 14 years separated, and that was a catalyst for a slew of crazy songs. I mean, I went through the process of that. Couple of months later, you know, me and the old lady are working it out. It's been a really big emotional rollercoaster for me, you know, and it's, you know, me at my most vulnerable I think I've ever been when it comes to music."
The band announced the release date during a live chat online with fans, where Shaddix said, "We wanted to make a dynamic and explosive record that captures the raw emotions of life. We also wanted to incorporate the biological sounds of rock with a digital edge to have a fresh sound."
Papa Roach's last full-length studio effort, Metamorphosis, arrived in spring 2009, while half of 2010's Time for Annihilation: On the Record & On the Roadconsisted of fresh studio material as well.
Papa Roach will play scattered festival and headline shows in June and July before heading out on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour, alongside Staind, Shinedown, P.O.D., Godsmack and more. That trek kicks off on August 17th in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
