Jane's Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza co-founder Perry Farrell has said that a rumored bill for this summer's edition of the festival, leaked by an alleged insider, is fake. Someone using the Twitter handle @lollaleaks posted an alleged lineup that featured Metallica, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyonce, Korn, Missy Elliott, Garbage, AWOLNation, the Killers, Beck, Ben Folds Five and others. But Farrell blasted the "insider" online, calling him a "red tick" and a "fraud" while saying that the festival's lineup was not finalized yet and would be announced in April. The alleged leaker later came clean and admitted his information was false.
Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins told us that he's not even sure if his band will be at Lollapalooza: "I mean, I'm not sure if that's gonna be the right fit, but you know, I know they're probably working on the show now. It's massive in Chicago, so if we're part of it I'd be honored, if we're not, I'll be there partying."
Lollapalooza is scheduled to take place this year on August 3rd, 4th and 5th at its regular home of Grant Park in Chicago.
Meanwhile, Jane's Addiction kicks off a North American tour on Wednesday (February 22nd) in St. Louis.
The trek in support of Jane's latest album, The Great Escape Artist, will bring the band to some of the country's most classic and intimate theatres for what a press release described as an "immersive theatrical experience."
