Members of Korn, Deftones and P.O.D., along with former members of Papa Roach, Chevelle, Megadeth and others will participate in an all-star jam to benefit Deftones bassist Chi Cheng. According to Blabbermouth.net,
the event will take place on January 16th at The Slidebar in Fullerton,
California. Cheng has been in a semi-comatose state since being gravely
injured in a November 2008 car accident. Since his insurance company
dropped him last January, money has been needed to pay for his
continued care and mounting medical bills.
It is not yet confirmed which members of Korn, P.O.D. and Deftones will appear.
Ex-Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner and former Chevelle bassist Joe Loeffler will perform, along with ex-Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson and members of Machine Head, Dream Theater and several other acts.
Two benefit shows were held last November in Los Angeles, featuring members of Linkin Park, Metallica, Motley Crue, System Of A Down and others. The gigs plus a corresponding auction raised more than $100,000 for Cheng.
Deftones will release their sixth studio album on April 27th.
