In the "bonus content" section of the new French concert DVD from Metallica, Francais Pour Une Nuit or French For One Night,
the members of the band are asked to each comment on a question that
has perplexed Metallica fans since last year: does the coffin on the
cover of the band's latest album, Death Magnetic, resemble the female sex organ?
Clips from the DVD in which drummer Lars Ulrich, frontman James Hetfield and bassist Robert Trujillo each give their own thoughts on the matter have been posted online.
Death Magnetic arrived in September 2008 and has sold nearly two million copies since its release.
Metallica
has used controversial cover art before, most notably a photo that
mixed semen and blood on the cover of the band's 1996 album Load.
Metallica
is playing a short round of West Coast tour dates this week before
taking a holiday break. The group heads overseas in early 2010.
