Korn and Rob Zombie are two of the major heavy rock acts rumored to be heading out on next summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, according to Blabbermouth.net. Korn drummer Ray Luzier told Unwired TV that
the band might headline the third edition of the annual summer trek,
which is produced by the organizers of the more punk-flavored Warped Tour. The two previous Mayhem tours have featured Disturbed, Slipknot, Slayer, Bullet For My Valentine, Five Finger Death Punch and others.
Another name mentioned in conjunction with the next Mayhem jaunt is hardcore metal act Hatebreed.
Korn is currently working on its ninth studio album, with Luzier saying the band hopes to get it out by March.
Korn frontman Jonathan Davis told Noisecreep
this past summer that the new record is a return to the band's original
sound, saying, "It's really like the old school stuff . . . like the
first two records. It's just going back to our roots . . . It's just
been amazing, and it sounds like nothing we've ever done."
