Kings Of Leon aren't the only rockers releasing their first live DVD on Tuesday (November 10th). The Killers are issuing Live From The Royal Albert Hall,
filmed during two July shows at the prestigious London venue. The Hall
holds 5,500 people, halfway between an arena and a theater, and Killers
frontman Brandon Flowers told us a while back why both types of venues have their appeal: "It's
amazing when you see bands like U2 command a crowd, and see that many
people be made so happy, you know, when they start to play 'Where The
Streets Have No Name' or something, you know, and the love that you
feel in a room of that size. But there's also something great about
being able to, you know, make eye contact with a guy in the last row at
a place that holds a thousand. I don't know, we appreciate both."
The
package also comes with an 80-minute live CD as well as a
behind-the-scenes documentary and other bonus content, including
footage shot at various European festivals.
In addition to
songs from all three of the band's studio albums, the DVD also features
the band performing the non-album rarity "Sweet Talk" along with a
cover of Joy Division's "Shadowplay."
The Killers are closing out out 2009 with shows in Mexico, South America, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
