What's the story behind this tattoo / piercing? The Koi is a symbol of Luck in Japan. They also represent perseverance and triumph over adversity. Many people get new tattoos when they begin a change in life that will lead them toward greater fulfillment and happiness. I got this tattoo for my mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer some years ago. My mom is japanese and I was born in Japan, so needless to say, I love japanese art. I plan on getting more japanese style tats and hopefully you can help me accomplish this goal.
