| I've always wanted a tattoo, but I've also always been one of those incredibly indecisive people who could never commit to a design. However, over the past year real life sort of smacked me in the face. My relationship was ending, I was dealing issues from my past for the first time, and I was scared about graduating from college and not knowing what was in store for me or what the hell I was going to do with an Art degree. Throughout this time, birds became a special symbol for me, sparrows in particular. I loved old school sailor sparrows but I wanted something a little different that was meaningful to me. Something that showed strength and fragility all in one. So one day, I just decided to go for it and do something completely for myself. This was the result. Soon, I hope to get another sparrow on the other shoulder and eventually work them into one upper back piece. In a way I guess you could say doing this was a way of finding my way back to myself.
