What are your most memorable experiences from your time on The Point?
I hosted a weekly live broadcast from the nightclub “America’s Pub” in Westport Plaza called Wednesday Night Raw. The club was frequented by several local sports celebrities and other celebrities passing through town. Every Wednesday night was “$1 You Call It’s” meaning every drink in the house was a buck. Needless to say…it was always packed and tended to get crazy. Not bad for the middle of the week.
There was also the night that I was escorting Dicky Barrett from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones around town after a show. We hit a bunch of bars and clubs and then I was supposed to drive him back to his hotel…it was about 4 in the morning and neither one of us knew what hotel he was staying at or where it was. We basically drove around downtown St. Louis at 4am going the wrong way up and down one-way streets until we passed a Holiday Inn and he shouted “There it is!”. I didn’t go in with him to make sure it was the right hotel and I never heard from again. I wish I could remember more details about that night but everything was a bit fuzzy the next day.
What are your most memorable Pointfest experiences?
Everything about Pointfest is memorable. From getting a chance to talk to the bands to hanging out with Point listeners to getting a chance to go on stage, the whole thing is an awesome experience. The free beer back stage isn’t bad either.
