Taking concert photographs has become a real passion for me.....About a year ago I rediscovered my passion for taking pictures. I have spent the last year investing in the right gear and studying photography at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park. Working for The Point it saw it as the perfect opportunity to pursue concert photography by photographing Point concerts for The Points website. Now that I have been doing this for a while it has grown into something bigger for me....I am photographing a lot of shows and hope I can continue to build my online portfolio by doing as many shows as I can. I don't take this for granted either, I am grateful to the people who have helped me make this happen....they know who they are and I thank them.

I'm grateful that I got to photograph the RockStar Energy Mayhem Festival from the pit this past Tuesday and although the day was hotter than hell, it was a great day of metal! The bands that I shot were: Chimaira, Shadows Fall, In This Moment, Hatebreed, Lamb Of God, Rob Zombie and Korn. I have attached a few examples of the shot here but you can see them all at

MAYHEM FESTIVAL @ VERIZON WIRELESS AMPHITHEATER
So Mayhem Festival is this Tuesday and it is gonna be hotter than hell there. I'm prepared to face the heat though....turns out I will be photographing the show from the pit area (sweet!). I will have photos up of the show as soon as I can get them to Nate to upload onto the site. Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb Of God, Shadows Fall, Hatebreed....it's always good to have a good metal show in town.

So I have been totally consumed by photography lately. Photographing the bands at Pointfest was a really cool experience. Standing on stage introducing the headliner is usually the highlight of my day at Pointfest but this year it was photographing the bands right at the stage. My photographs are on The Point Website of the main stage bands....I hope you enjoy them. Plans are in the work for a website where I can display my photographs of live music etc. I'll keep you posted on that......
